Chaired several Kansas City regionals, ca. 1970-'76; served at various concom levels at Midwestern regionals through the 1980s.
Helped to create what became known as the Floating Worldcon Committee.
Panel moderator or panelist at regionals and several Worldcons and NASFIC.

Co-founder (with Gary Mattingly) of the Kansas City Science Fiction & Fantasy Society (1971); served twice as its director (1971-'72; 2001-'03). Currently a member of the KaCSFFS Aux. Board, as the head of club's trade book publishing arm, KaCSFFS Press.

Has been a small press book publisher (under various imprints) and book designer since 1976.

Was co-editor (with the late Tom Reamy) of the offset fanzines TRUMPET and NICKELODEON, in the 70's.
