[Fan Gallery] Hatcon

Reference for Fan Gallery

Rev. 23-Jul-2004

This was a limited-size convention (about 350 maximum) aimed at bringing in a large proportion of professionals, especially those in the publishing side of the field. Each convention concentrated on a publisher: number 2 - TOR, number 3 Bantam/Ballantine, and number 4 - Berkley/Ace. Immediately after the second convention sponsorship was in the name of the Connecticut Science Fiction Society. Because of other commitments the Ballantines did not attend their convention. It was called Hatcon because Danbury was once noted for its manufacture of hats and is still called the Hat City..
